Gaalipata- only entertainment

na nai na na nai… This film Gaalipata is nothing but a highly packed entertainment. You cant find any sort of story in strict sense. The story in simple is about 3 boys who are fed up of their daily urban life and go to Mugilpete to have some excitement and hunting.

All the three love 3 girls. How they love, and get settled down is the story. This is the age old type of story. But the way it has been presented hats off to Bhatt. What really strikes from the starting is the enjoyment and fun filled life of the three and the carefree attitude of the youngsters.
To add a dimension of excitement, the pig hunting has been added to the film. The pig generated graphically is much ahead of the low quality graphics which was shown to us by low profile directors like S. Narayan. The pig seems very realistic, though not completely original.

All the three girls are different of each other. Daisy, Neethu, Bhavana all are given equal importance in the film. Neethu’s scoldings, Daisy’s silence, Bhavana’s mischief are the highlights. And in the supporting cast Ananth Nag, Padmaja Rao, Sudha Belawadi, Rangayana Raghu and beatle nut grand father have done a good job. Though Rangayana Raghu comes in for a few shots in the starting and end, he makes his impact.

The story is thin, but the screenplay is rich with many elements tightly packed. It does not involve any such twists and turns. Not a single scene you will bored, but you will be surely laughing. Before recovering from one joke, another witty dialogue comes from Ganesh’s mouth.

The dialogues are the life of the film. Dialogues and lively screenplay save the film completely. In some scenes, the dialogues from Ganesh have hidden philosophy in simple words. There is no such sentiment in the film. Though Bhatt tries to create some sentiment at the end, it fails partially.

Rathnavelu’s camera work is awesome. He has captured some breathtaking visuals in the cloudy hilly region. He has given an artistic feel to each shot he has placed. He manages to get a good image even in bad light conditions. Aakaasha ishte yaakideyo song has been shot with long height jimmy jib, but he has failed to give perfection in this song and the editor has failed to present the song in proper way. Minchaagi neenu baralu has some aesthetic shots and never ending camera movements. Camera is one more thing which has saved the film.

Music by Hari Krishna is pleasant. 2-3 songs are attractive. Minchaagi Neenu baralu wins. The way aaha bedaru bombe song has been shot disappoints us. Digant fails to give complete performance. Rajesh gives a good performance. And Ganesh gives the best performance almost similar to Mungaru Male style. If he doesn’t change his style hereafter, he will be in th danger of being monotonous actor.

In whole, Gaalipata is not about a story, not about any message, or philosophy… forget everything, sit back and relax for two and half hours. You will not be disappointed. No comparisions with Mungaru Male, the entertainment you get is worth the money you pay.
